Orinon City is the
administrative capital of the Cudgel system. Nominally
it is run by the Core Commonwealth, though as long as
the system is stable and tax money from interstellar
traffic continues to flow, the Commonwealth is happy to
appoint a governor and forget the world of Cudgel. Politics
in Orinon City are predominantly local in nature. |

City History
Stonetown
Stonetown is the original Cudgel settlement, surrounded by
high stone walls, and features a variety of buildings which
are built using locally quarried stone. The architectural
styles range from the simple, functional constructs built to
protect the original settlers, to later, more elaborate and
grandiose stone designs to modern nano-constructed and
modified buildings. It houses the official Administrative
Complex which represent the seat of power in the Cudgel
system, through which system and planetary policy are set or
relayed from the Commonwealth. In addition to the governement
buildings, Stonetown is home to some of the richest and most
powerful residents of Orinon City. It is home to a variety of restaurants,
hotels, businesses, trendy apartments, and other conveniences
for the rich and trendy.

The Old Village
West Orinon was the site of the original settlement boom,
where the city expanded into farms and settlements. Now
predominantly single family homes and apartments, with a few
retail businesses and farming on the western outskirts of town.
A few original palatial estates remain. The
East Banks
The newer, planned section of town. There are farms and a
bit of light industry along the north and south borders of
town. The majority of the East Banks are apartments and single
family dwellings, with larger estates near the lake. Downtown
The main commercial section of town, hosting a variety of
bars, restaurants, trendy apartments, independent shops and
chain stores. The Industrial Sector
There is a variety of warehousing, light manufacturing,
and processing. Materials brought down to Orinon Platform
often end up transported here for processing, repackaging, or
sale. There are also a variety of offices and administrative buildings
and restaurants and support services.
The Docks
Originally just a shipping port for hauling bulk goods
between Orinon Platform and Orinon City, as the city grew, The
Docks became home to a marina, beach, and popular fishing spot
for the populace. There are some packaging, processing, and
storage facilities here.
