Fusers and Breakers
The "tech" numbers describe a "tech level" that indicates
when the weapons were first developed. It corresponds to the eras in the
History section.
Fusers and Breakers are similar weapons
in that they both throw plasma bolts at the target.
Fusers are generally larger, cruder forms of the
weapon, drawing Deuterium-Tritium fuel from a large backpack or beltpack.
Super-heated plasma is created through a contained fusion reaction and fed from
the reaction chamber into a projectile, generally called a "pellet", which is basically an electromagnetic
containment field generator. The projectile, consisting of the pellet and an
electromagnetically contained mass of plasma, is propelled by electromagnetic
fields through the barrel of the weapon and fired at a target. The projectile
velocity generated by the electromagnetic field can be set for direct fire or
to "lob" the projectiles. The Fuser is heavy, cumbersome and has a very slow
rate of fire but creates devastating projectiles. The heaviest versions are
often built into exoskeletons.
Breakers are a later development of the
technology, more refined, exceptionally more portable, and less devastating in
effect. Breakers tend to be self-contained units configured as heavy rifles.
Their fuel supply and the reaction size of individual projectiles is smaller than that of their cruder cousins, the Fusers. They are capable
of a high rate of fire and can fill an area with small bursting explosions but
they tend to run out of fuel quickly and are inconvenient to reload.
Azatlath Advanced Construction
Azatlath is
quite proud of their line of fusion-based bolt throwers, providing an
exceptionally high quality line of reliable and practical heavy weapons.
Crusher
Light Breaker by Azatlath Advanced Construction
The Crusher is a light,
high-powered breaker with a small on-board fuel supply capable of
only a few powerful shots. Designed to provide a quick blasts of
power at opportune moments during heavy combat. Requires frequent
refuelling.
|
Echande
Breaker by Azatlath Advanced Construction
The Echande is designed to provide a
high rate of fire and relatively low damage for extended periods.
It holds a relatively small supply of fissionable fuel in an
onboard containment area which can be fed from either a slingable
shoulder/waistpack or dedicated backpack. It fires relatively
small projectiles which can rapidly saturate an area for damage or
suppression.

Wyvern
Heavy Breaker by Azatlath Advanced Construction
The Wyvern is a heavy Fuser that fires
large blasts of plasma and is capable of heavy damage and
sustained fire. It is directly fed from either a backpack or a
dedicated exoskeleton. It is heavy and bulky and must be used by a
strong and trained individual outside of its powered exoskeleton
configuration.

Volto-Avaiga
Volto-Avaiga designs a small range of heavy weapons like
breakers to
meet specific defence force and civilian peace keeping needs.
Breach
Heavy Breaker by Volto-AvaigaThe
Breach is designed primarily as a weapon for breaching sealed doors,
quickly crippling civilian vehicles, and providing a strong intimidation
factor in crowd control situations. It is a heavy and awkward
self-contained rifle design that will produce only a few large blasts
before requiring refuelling. |
Tzar Industries
Tzar Industries designs a small range of cheap but effective
heavy weapons for specific target markets.
Joust
Single-shot Breaker by Tzar Industries
A single shot, self-contained and shoulder-fired heavy plasma tube designed to
take on armour, infantry clusters, and small buildings and outcraft. Heavy
and awkward but devastating in effect.
|
Javelin
Breaker by Tzar Industries
A reloadable version of the Striper. It is a shoulder-fired heavy plasma
tube designed to
take on armour, infantry clusters, and small buildings and outcraft. Heavy
and awkward but devastating in effect. The plasma fuel and containment
field projector/projectile are contained in a single "clip" that can be removed
and replaced between firings. The reloading process is slow and the clips are
heavy.
